My final masterpieces! November 16, 2009

Firstly, my apologies for abandoning this blog for quite some time. Been really busy with schoolwork, rushing out the storybook for assignment 6 and my final portfolio. However, I do not like leaving things hanging around without giving a proper end to this wonderful module I’ve enjoyed throughout this hectic semester! Reflections

Nm2208 is truly a fun module to take. Though intense with lots of assignments to complete, it is indeed one of a kind that differentiates itself from typical modules with lots of readings. Those sleepless nights rushing out my final portfolio were worth it! Being a design fanatic, this module just added more colors to my mundane school life and heated up more passion in me towards designing. Lastly, if you were wondering whether should you take NM2208 for the coming semester, do not hesitate! Get ready for your very own design adventure =)

Iconic vs Indexic September 6, 2009

Here’s a short update regarding the lecture activity we did last week on iconic and indexic concepts. To me, iconic and indexic concepts go hand in hand, and we often associate one with the other. The example given in the lecture was a tree as iconic and the leaves as indexic, or handphone as iconic and the connection sign as indexic. So when we see the indexic signs, we naturally will associate them to the relevant iconic signs.

Hello world!

It’s a brand new day, a brand new semester! I’m pretty excited to get into NM2208 Principles of Visual Communication class. Having been in contact with computer graphics for the past few years, I’m ready to take on my designs to a whole new level. So, join me in this amazing quest to explore more about visual designs and hopefully, after taking this module, I’ll be able to conceptualize better, create better designs and communicate my ideas in a better way!
